The contribution of our work is that different test cases related to human effects are explored. In this paper, how human presence (i.e., standing) and human movement (i.e., walking) in a wireless link affect the RSSI is investigated through experiments. Since most device-free methods consider the RSSI as a major indicator for human tracking, a better understanding of the RSSI influenced by humans should be more studied. In a device-free human detection and tracking system using received signal strength indicator (RSSI), human presence and movement in a wireless network can be monitored by analyzing the change in the RSSI signal.
